Palin Never Said ‘Death Panel’ Was IN THE Bill

I woke up this morning to read an Obama article on the Yahoo front page.  The article quoted him saying yet again:

“As every credible person who has looked into it has said, there are no so-called death panels — an offensive notion to me and to the American people,” Obama said.

Mr. President, did you even read Palin’s two Facebook statements???  Dr. Thomas Sowell, the award-winning economist who graduated from several Ivy League schools, also agrees with Palin. Are you calling him less credible?

I am getting very tired of telling people that Palin NEVER said “death panel” was specifically outlined in the bill.  She simply stated that once healthcare cost gets too high, government would refuse to pay the cost (because Obama said no new taxes on the middle class and you can only tax the rich so much), care would then be rationed.  She doesn’t know how Obama would ration care, but her inkling comes from one of his top healthcare advisors, Dr. Ezekiel Emmanuel (his Chief of Staff’s brother), who wrote about the “Complete Lives System” where he outlines how healthcare should be rationed, and that is to give it to those who are deemed productive members of society (this usually excludes the elderly, the sick and the disabled).

I heard Dr. Charles Krauthammer on the Hugh Hewitt radio show on my way home yesterday gloating about how smart he is to recognize that Palin is wrong and that there are no “death panels” as he so gleefully pointed out in his recent op-ed, but the silly goose actually restated Palin’s point.  However, I think Dr. Krauthammer, a Harvard medical school grudate, did one step more than Palin did.  He pointed out that the Grim Reaper was indeed secretly hiding in the End-of-Life provision.  Is anyone calling him a looney?

He wrote:

And when you include [end-of-life care] in a health-care reform whose major objective is to bend the cost curve downward, you have to be a fool or a knave to deny that it’s intended to gently point the patient in a certain direction, toward the corner of the sickroom where stands a ghostly figure, scythe in hand, offering release. (Emphasis added.)

And who is this “ghostly figure” he speaks of?  Why, his other name is Death!  And WHO decides WHEN you’ll be “gently pointed” towards Death’s door?  Why, Doctor, it’s the DEATH PANEL!

I hope he’s getting many emails telling him that his op-ed simply agreed with Palin’s assessment of what Obamacare’s future would be like.  Then again, I don’t know why he’s writing about “death panels” right now when the End-of-Life provision has already been removed by lawmakers thanks to the citizen politician, Sarah Palin.  To quote another blogger, Dr. Krauthammer is “a day late and a dollar short.”

  1. So you’re trying to confuse people with facts, huh? Good luck. I cannot convince my leftist friends that Palin never said “I can see Russia from my house.” God knows that I’ll never make headway with this piece of information.
